Malwarebytes Anti-Malware’s New Look

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware’s New Look

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has a spiffy new look. Version 2.1.4.1018 has just been released and besides sporting a cleaner, modern look, it also has a few upgrades that may not be obvious at first. For example, the new version has improved root-kit detection and removal. It also automatically updates before running a scan so that you have the latest protection database when scanning. A bug with the next scheduled scan not showing up properly has also been fixed, along with several notification issues. The full change-log is available for those of you interested.

I have posted some old and new version screen-shots so that you can see the differences before you install.

Current users will be getting the update in a few days. If you’re not currently using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and would like to install it or just can’t wait for the update, you can download the free version from the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Website. The new version installs easily over the old version; no need to uninstall the previous version.

If you’re curious about the differences between the Free version and the Premium version you can see them listed at the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware product comparison page.
